WELCOME

You are NOT crazy.                                                   

If you have fibromyalgia you are ill.

You may have been told that whatever you have is untreatable. You may have been overmedicated by well-intentioned health care providers who wanted desperately to help you. You may have fallen victim to some of the many folks who are making billions of dollars a year off your desperate search for something, anything, that helps.

We are here to help.

Years ago when we first put up this website      those words were important.  But now that big pharmaceutical companies have discovered the chronic illness market and they simply seem archaic.  We know fibromyalgia exists because   we see it advertised on television and read about  it in magazines. Suddenly all our friends have  heard of it.

What's lost in all the commotion is that none of these expensive new compounds actually treat the illness.  They simply cover up symptoms and the side effects of these potent chemicals often require others to counteract them.  The regimen of choice for fibromyalgia is polypharmacy, but the disease continues to get worse and eventually breaks through.  Many patients cannot afford or tolerate these new medications, and the truth this that even in the best clinical trials their success has been modest.

Results are what count.  And there is hope.  We use a simple medication with no side effects to actually reverse fibromyalgia.  As time goes by you will need fewer medications, not more.  We know. We have fibromyalgia too.  We have walked in your shoes.  All our material is here on this website free of charge. 

Our mission is to provide educational materials based on a lifetime of work by R. Paul St. Amand, MD using guaifenesin to reverse  fibromyalgia. We raise money to fund legitimate fibromyalgia research. Our mission is to increase knowledge, reduce frustration and most importantly, to help. We are gratified that the number of people and organizations devoted to helping fibromyalgics has grown enormously. Treatment of fibromyalgia has become a multi-billion dollar industry and we have no objection to profit. However, conflicting information provided by marketers regarding the guaifenesin protocol can be harmful. If, after thorough investigation you and your doctor determine that implementing the guaifenesin protocol is appropriate for you, it is critically important that it be adhered to precisely.

We are often asked why the Fibromyalgia Treatment Center does not manufacture, distribute, or promote any particular brand of guaifenesin for the treatment of fibromyalgia. Simply, our mission is to educate -- based on fifty years of diligent, honest research. We will not risk compromising the integrity of our work with the perception of ulterior motivation.
